The 18 Pro costs a lot more, and the money goes to a 4x zoom lens, a main camera that can adjust how much light it lets in, and Apple's fastest chip. Both have a 6.3-inch 120 Hz screen, so day to day they feel closer than the price gap suggests.
Choose the Apple iPhone 17
If you don't need zoom, keep the money. The 17 is plenty for everyday photos, video calls and most games.
Choose the Apple iPhone 18 Pro
For the 4x zoom lens. Portraits and shots from across a room look far better than the 17's 2x crop, and the A20 Pro is Apple's fastest chip. Expect to carry more, though: 211 g against 177 g.
