Sony Xperia 1 VIII

For Xperia fans and video creators who want a top-chip flagship with a headphone jack, microSD and 4K120 on every camera, and who will pay a premium for it.

Good

• Headphone jack, microSD slot and front stereo speakers
• 48 MP main, 2.9x periscope and ultrawide cameras all record 4K120
• Bright LTPO OLED (about 2,100 nits peak) and IP65/IP68 build

Less good

• Very high price for what you get, and no official US launch
• Slow 30 W charging: about 1 h 25 min to full
• CPU throttles hard under sustained load, and photos trail the best camera phones
